cadillac aera
cadillac aera

as part of the 1000 pound car design challenge at this year’s la auto show, general motors advanced design california
designed the lightweight cadillac aera. the aera would weigh exactly 1000 pounds and only need refueling every
1000 miles. seating four, the concept vehicle uses a body structure composed of a mono formed 3d lattice that is sturdy
without the weight of extra parts. this lattice design is based off structures found in nature and all the components stem
from the main structure. the aera runs on a compressed air engine that has a 10000 psi composite air storage tank.
the driving is also done using a wireless system that cuts out heavy electrical components.

bb ... Two thumbs way up!
This is the only entry I have seen in this design challenge that looks like a car, and at that, it seem consistent with the brands design image! ... It somehow retains those striking caddy angles. They even kept the tail lights!
I will give a wink to Volvo for that trunk detail ... keep your sole.
