‘reconstruction lamp’ by kouichi okamoto (clip version)

the ‘reconstruction lamp’ by japanese designer kouichi okamoto from kyouei design ltd is a lamp remade from an industrial clip lamp. the original was dismantled, pressed in a mold and then gilded for finishing. the clip acts as the lamp’s stand, which can be used for both self support (stand lamp) and locking (clip lamp).

the reconstruction lamp was recently released at the designtide tokyo 2010.

in addition, kouichi okamoto has designed a special light installation exclusively for the tokyo designboom mart at tokyo designers week 2010, using a series of the lamps which were strategically hung above the mart exhibition.

each cluster was composed of 12 lamps connected to each other through clips.
