'eye of the storm,' designed by yiran qian
designed by chinese-born, german-based product designer yiran qian,
'eye of the storm' is a watch without a face.
the watch is entirely black until its wearer presses a small button.
then coloured lights are illuminated along the watch's frame, indicating the time in analog.
the watch is completely black until its side button is pressed, illuminating the time
the center face of a watch is not necessary in order to read the time, and in fact many people are sensitive
to the metals generally used in its construction. the design of 'eye of the storm' thus eliminates this problem,
as well as saves valuable material, lowering production costs.
