eventscape inc. has recently completed a commission by francis cauffman architects to engineer, fabricate and install 'globe'
accompanied by 'acrylic media wall' in the lobby of the newly designed st. joseph's hospital in paterson, new jersey.
composed of 860 acrylic cubes, the twenty foot diameter feature hangs in the center of the lobby, illumiated
by natural light from above. each six inch square cube is carefully hung and secured in place to create an over-sized globe
complete with continents and polar caps. behind it sits a media wall spanning thirty feet, constructed using acrylic cubes set
at various depths that are lit from the inside with LED's. the blocks, which are individually programmed rotate through a range
of colors and patterns, creating a continually changing environment.

the original design was a steel structure covered with a fabric membrane

the steel suspension mounts directly to the glass dome

prototyping was an important part of the engineering process

by flattening a map of the world, eventscape inc. was able to co-ordiante exactly where each cube and color would be located
