frustrated with the lack of affordable, contemporary furniture on the market, colin schaelli of zurich-based studio, design bureau colin schaelli, set out to create own his collection entitled ‘con.temporary furniture’.

the easy to move, easy to assemble objects are made entirely from wood and do not require nails, screws or tools to assemble. the clear cut panels of plywood use measurements based on the tatami grid system, allowing the furniture to be packed and easily transported by car.

three different finish options – raw, planed and grinded plywood, lino veneer or local wood veneer – allow the line to be accessible to many different price points.

the collection, which is currently being sold in switzerland and japan is manufactured by selected craftsmen, responsible for locally producing the products, thus keeping the shipping costs low.
