eindhoven-based designer, luc van hoeckel has created
'windmaker' a fan for residential applications that operates
off the grid.
modeled after a traditional cuckoo clock, the wooden fan uses weights
and a joint system to power itself. a circulating breeze begins to
generate when the weights which hang from the bottom are lifted.
within five minutes the fan begins to cool its environment without
the use of electricity.

So is it a PERPETUAL MOTION MACHINE then? Because those are supposed to be impossible.

It is not sustaining motion. How can we make it work continuously?
