society 27, a collaborative group of young designers have created 'shoe model no.1'
with packaging specifically for the release of the sneaker, designed by archabits.
the seamless plywood box incorporates brand and product information that is directly
applied to the surface of the box. the two pieces slot into each other and house a
window, graphically cut from the back of the box to reveal what is inside.

credits are imprinted directly on to the box

I agree 01.13.11
I agree with Krueger, the box is nice and a great statement.
Hannes 01.13.11
It's sad to see talented designers wasting their talent on creating more waste in this this world. And depressing that their peers can only comment on whether the box is nice or that puma has done it better!
JAH 01.13.11
Now thats something fresh. I love the woodwork!

guys do we really need to design another useless product, I mean honestly shoe box is our real problem??? ok, lets face it the designer just changed the material of the an already existing product to prove what? Best case scenario he's considering eco stuff and using recycled or certified wood, but where are we going with this creativity... we should be more responsible , I mean much more!!!!c'mon guys, it's up to us designers and consumers to decide.
Amin 01.13.11
I love the shoe.. Does anybody know what brand of shoe it is. Of course the box is cool as well. Thx.
ajay 01.13.11
Well, for me the greatest challenge is to think of a fresh way of designing a boring utilitarian object such as a shoe box. The box adds quite a flavour to the shoes.
By the way, the webpage of the producer says they've made only 27 pairs of this model as a special treat, so, dear environmentalists, relax! Besides, I could find a 1000 different uses for this box once I lay hands on it
