contemporary british designer karen ryan, who is known for her use of recycled objects
has created 'body' an installation spread throughout portsmouth, UK.

discarded chair frames were gathered, disassembled and then attached together using zip ties
to resemble the skeleton of a human body. the form was consequently placed
in desolate locations - including an alleyway and an abandoned field - in such a way that
it mimics 'victims' or dead bodies.

This is remarkable work, and a great outgrowth of the artist's earlier chair and plate work. Would love to see her collaborate with the right architect in an adaptive reuse project.

If you think that this represents a human skeleton or human form you are truly mis guided and misinformed. It is an abominable stretch of the imagination to think that this represents anything other than a complete mess. Chairs ,furniture , dish ware, clothing, architecture and all things constructed by humans are based on interpretations of real or imagined Nature and have always been designed within human proportional scale for functionality , utility and iconography. To use broken bits of chairs and rearrange them in some sort of half- assed order , photograph them, and try to pass it off as art is ludicrous If that insanity is what you are trying to achieve than you have arrived there . Take a legitimate design course and stop cluttering up art sites with this useless tripe.
