paris-based designer patrick norguet in collaboration with french furniture manufacturer alki,
has designed 'makil', a stackable oak chair that showcases material, technique and structure.
the chair will be exhibited for the first time at maison et objet 2011.

using the finest bending techniques and craftsmanship, the chair is composed of a series
of winding and intersecting forms. the combined use of solid oak and oak plywood
adds an additional layer of interest to the object.

The chair looks good and the connection details are very well resolved. Though, general proportions and from sideways it resembles Jasper Morrison chair for Capellini.

I would probably remove the "seamlessly" quote, since with this chair you can actually see the seam that connects the leg to arm. It's actually highlighted with that parting line. In no way can this be compared to the seamless designs of Hans Wegner or Finn Juhl.

the delicate design draws its organic and subtly curved form from that of old european terrace or balcony wrought-iron fences.
