lladró atelier is a new creative space which runs within the spanish firm lladró that specializes

the series is formed by functional objects such as vases, lamps, mirrors and boxes,
all of which take on the shapes of buildings. arranged together as a whole, these structures create a city,
not one that is so realistic, but rather suggestive of an imaginary or futuristic setting.

the refined forms of the avant-garde structures which make up 'metropolis' focus on the little details.
rich textures have been recreated meticulously in order to make the pieces look as if they are covered
in miniature embroidery, a hallmark of handcrafted work at lladró.

lladró atelier focuses on showcasing pieces that require different treatments.
the entire 'metropolis' from the exterior, are in their bisqued form - unglazed.
however, for the vases, the interior has been glazed so that the vessels are not porous,
when pouring water inside.
