karim rashid: space time for zero

at the 2011 stockholm furniture fair, new york-based designer karim rashid will present his new
'space time' lamp developed for swedish lighting manufacturer zero.

the organically shaped pendant lamp appears with large perforations, making the surface area
of the shade minimal. a cone-shaped extrusion extends from the base ring of the light upwards
towards and connecting to the wiring, hiding the lighting element and making the overall form
of the lamp more seamless.

in the "where are they now" corner.... what did become of lovejoy? lovegrove? once so ubiquitous. was he abducted by the aliens over jerusalem?

I like it. Definitely prefer the resolved and final design over the preliminary rendering.

'bone chair' starts in the form of a box-like seat made up of planes. as it evolves, sections of the chair are subtracted, cutting away all the ballast material leaving only a 'skeleton' form.
