the eight yet-untitled designs in the velux skylight blind collection designed by karim rashid

designer karim rashid has partnered with velux in designing a series of skylight blackout shades.

through february, a web competition invites individuals to propose names for each of the designs
in the eight-piece collection, which can be viewed and voted on by others. at the contest's close,
the most highly voted entries will become the official names of each of the blinds.

designed to provide complete darkness when completely lowered, the shades in the new line
also provides thermal insulation for windows, generating a 33% decrease in heat flow.
