director gary hustwit is working on the post production of the third film in his design trilogy, but he needs your help to finish. a kickstarter project was started yesterday to help raise 85k USD for additional filming and final editing.

urbanized‘ looks to wrap up the ideas hustwit presented in his first two movies ‘helvetica’ and ‘objectified’ and tries to understand the issues and strategies behind urban design. specifically how the design of the places we live and work in directly affect our lives and how we function. through interviews with architects, planners, policymakers, builders, and thinkers, hustwit and ‘helvetica’ cinematographer luke geiddbuhler focus on specific urban projects that represent the issues facing cities today.

pledges start at 10 USD for a digital copy of the movie, ranging up to 400 USD for blu-rays of the movies and t-shirts or posters from build. pledge over 2,000 USD to be in the credits of the movie and have dinner with the cast and crew.

the feature-length film is scheduled to premier at film festivals later this year with another soundtrack from el ten eleven.
