‘nooka augmented reality accessorizer’, a concept ad campaign by norweigan designer arild orholm (art director) and naari edinger (copywriter), combines traditional print ads with augmented reality technology to create a virtual dressing room for online purchases of nooka products.

the campaign hinges on pull-off watch-shaped paper bracelets that are incorporated into magazine advertisements, or available for download online. each of these bracelets is stamped with augmented reality markers, so that clicking to a special section of the NOOKA website on a computer connected to a webcam enables users who are wearing the paper bracelet to ‘try on’ different models of watch. from a list of available colors and styles, a potential consumer makes a selection, and the watch is rendered onscreen on his wrist, responding in realtime to physical movement. having made a decision, the user can click to purchase the item through the same interface.
