‘home living TV’ by new york-based designer mike chen is a re-interpreted television design that looks to reverse the evolution of the familiar object.

looking to bring back the idea of TV as furniture, the contemporary and pared back piece uses an aesthetic language and materials that are familiar to a young generation.

two antennas on the top of the set become switches, moving left and right to control channels and input modes. speakers on the front and back are seamlessly integrated into the interface, along with a 1950s style remote control that fits into a slot on the front of the television when not in use.
