daphna isaacs and laurens manders of dutch studio daphna laurens  have created ‘basis table’, a design that looks to capture and reuse components from a significant site in the netherlands. using 600 year old oak wood excavated from a historical ruin near eindhoven, the piece actualizes both literal and figurative elements taken from the site.

table legs, fastened together using cast iron braces, represent a fragment of the map made during the archaeological discovery of the ruin. slightly extending through a pane of glass, the legs are symbolic of the foundation that rose from a pool of water at the site.
