parisian designer pierre brichet‘s limited edition series of chairs entitled ‘marie sophie’ are simple and raw in their construction yet embody a craftsmen’s sense of skill. the contrast of the natural leather sloping over the complexity of the stark black lines that make up the the base structure seem to fit together without hesitation. while sitting atop an illusion of volume that is generated by the empty spaces in the geometric frame.

brichet lives and works in paris where his work is divided between collaborations with design agencies and personal projects, in addition to being a member of the design collective dito.

eight chairs were produced, numbered and signed as a limited edition for the coming soon galarie and one additional chair for the artist.
