I have made an artwork as a fundraising effort. An Omamori, which is a protective amulets in Japanese Shinto religion. It's supposed to ward off bad luck and keep the wearer safe.

All you need to do, is to visit this link, and like+share the page on facebook. For every 100 likes it receives, I will donate £100 (appox. 0) in the name of Flying Spaghetti Monster, until the fund reaches the £1000 (00) goal.

Please share the love and help Japan!

The tragedy that has unfolded in Japan is unprecedented. We are all moved by the images and stories of those affected. Here at Architecture for Humanity we've have received an outpouring of emails, calls and donations from concerned folks who want to help. We thought we would send you an update letting you know how we are responding.

We are in contact with design professionals and Architecture for Humanity volunteers in Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo. We are working with them to identify needs and next steps in the short- and long-term. We will continue to update you on the needs as we work to develop partnerships and projects.

If you would like to aid this effort, please consider donating . If you have already made a donation, thank you. In the near term, these funds will support local Japanese professionals as they provide damage assessments during the emergency and transitional phase. Further down the road, funds will go toward aiding local agencies in providing housing and the reconstruction of social and cultural infrastructure, such as schools, clinics and cultural centers.

You can also organize a fundraiser in your community. Contact us -- development@architectureforhumanity.org -- to find out how.
Please note: at the moment we will not be sending sponsored volunteers to Japan but will focus our efforts on supporting local professionals. However, if you're interested in volunteering , there are plenty of opportunities at our headquarters in San Francisco and with our chapters.

On behalf of all those affected and our colleagues in Japan, thank you for your support.
Very best,
Architecture for Humanity   03.16.11
The huge quake and devastating tsunami has left the overwhelming damage to the country and we are still facing this terrifying conditions.

As I have received the message from all over the world, I would like to take this opportunity to extend my sincere appreciation for your warmest concerns.

This is the time for us to think what we can really do. I have thought what I could do now, at this moment.
I believe that there would be more than just watching the situation of this disaster on television to help the lives of people there
I know I am not in place to ask such thing, yet one of the thing that we can do for the people in the afflicted area is to donate for their relief and recovery.
There are babies in need of milk, people who has lost their families, and houses.

Here are links to the donation for the relief and recovery of the Japanese earthquake and Pacific tsunami afflicted region:

Here in the US we recognize sister cities all over the world many in Japan. S.Nakajima and Veronika have a very good idea and I think US sister cities to Japanese cities could organize their citizens to open their homes to help the victims in Japan.

When New Orleans was hit by Katrina these steps of temporary relocation were offered throughout the US.

I am going to attend our city council meeting....
