this year marks the 50th anniversary of milan's salone del mobile (milan design week).
on this occasion, italian furniture manufacturer kartell presents 'kartell ♥ milano', a tribute project to the city
which has seen the company's beginning and successes since its start-up in the 1950s.
drawing on the city's personalities - whether local or international - who have brought their personal
and professional relationship to milan, making it a creative hub of art, culture, design, fashion, literature to music and cuisine,
with this exhibition running under the theme of their 'act of love' towards milan, kartell creates revisits and reinterprets
pieces from its entire collection, bringing forth the diverse creative fields found in the italian city.

3 / 4 and front views
for the presentation, designers have been asked to choose one of their designs developed for the furniture manufacturer
and re-invent the product, transforming it with the special theme of love for the city. japanese designer tokujin yoshioka
selects his 'mi-ami' chair first presented at milan design week 2008 as his muse, finishing it with a mirrored surface
as a means of reflecting the city and its people.
