marco dessí: dakar for skitsch

3/4 back view rendering of the 'dakar' chair made from powder coated tubular steel and sheet metal
italian designer marco dessí's new stackable aluminum chair 'dakar' is a lesson in thoughtful, lightweight construction
created for skitsch. the backrest and back leg cover are formed from one metal sheet demonstrating the
stability and at the same time flexibility of the material. the backrest still gives way like a spring when one leans back.

the choice of material makes the chair a light but extremely durable piece of furniture suitable for inside or outside.
similar to other work from dessí, it seems that one could deconstruct the chair into its basic components with ease.
it is available in five solid colors or combinations between these and is on show at the 2011 milan design week.

it is true our society nowadays often forgets what the past generations did. as you we can see here human being has failed again
at least it's sad that nobody here can note the difference ....tubolar steel structure,rivets..etc
By the way, whats about constructive critic? Have someone a personal issue or what? Here a some absolutely primitve comments around..
i like the pieces
The copycat issue is just ridiculous, if you know about design and fabrication the differences are obviously striking..metal sheet not plywood, stackable, rivets, tubular steel..
and ..a tribute to Grete Jalk.
People, learn how to read design!
