patrick norguet: stem chair for crassevig

'stem chair' by patrick norguet for crassevig

'stem chair' is paris-based designer patrick norguet's first collaboration with italian furniture brand crassevig.
the design comes from norguet's exploration of industrial production processes in combination with different materials.
in particular this is evident in the technical development of the chair's curved aluminum, that uses no welding,
rather an alternative assembly system to hold components in place. the delicate design draws its organic
and subtly curved form from that of old european terrace or balcony wrought-iron fences.

the 'stem chair' is also available in a version with castors and is on show at milan design week 2011.
