yii: motorcycle rococo by rock wang

showcased at milan design week 2011 inside the triennale di milano for the second consecutive year,
was a presentation by taiwanese design brand yii lead by creative director gijs bakker.
looking to translate traditional taiwanese craft techniques into contemporary design objects,
the newest pieces of the 2011 collection draw on the theme of 'street life' - a new way to express the
culture of the east asian country through everyday life.

included in this series is 'rococo plan' by rock wang, an interpretation of taiwanese
deco style,
influenced by the aesthetics of the country's most popular
vehicle, the motorcycle. built in partnership
with craftsman
cheng-yao chiang, the baroque-styled frame of the design is constructed
from parts of
SYM wolf 125 motorcycles, while the inner side consists of
140 readymade motorcycle rear view mirrors.
