jorge diego etienne: choose your bullets

jorge diego etienne: choose your bullets

the 'choose your bullets' desk accessory is jorge diego etienne's response to the increasing violence seen in mexico,

based on the idea that 'the pen is mightier than the gun'.

'your pen can be more harmful than a gun 'choose your bullets' reminds us that corruption and bad decisions can be

more harmful than violence. this project aims to empower our decisions and reconsider the choices we make and

the effects they have.'

every piece is sculpted by industrial artisans in monterrey, mexico and is engraved with a unique serial number.

it has a fabulous design, and it looks great. It also serves as a great reminder than what we write can have a greater impact that guns or bullets will ever have.

Great job!
It is a powerful statement. Choose your own bullets to counter the massive violence with ideas!
Huge Impact Design!

It's amazing how something so simple can represent the pain and despair by an entire country. This design while being simple is very well constructed and its obvious that the manufacturing process is detailed and refined.

i love the idea behind it!! nowadays in mexico, it's hard to remember that what's really causing all this violence are all the bad decisions the designer is referring to. and although it's easy to relate a mexican designer's idea to what is happening in mexico right now, i believe this is addressing a non-harming attitude in our everyday lives with our planet and the people around us. the design may be counterintuitive at first and it's important to acknowledge the whole concept behind it. the uniqueness, simplicity and visual appeal of the design is what makes this a great product. i absolutely love it!

An object that succeeds in making a sharp yet hopeful critique on the grim Mexican scenario. Perhaps, before choosing our bullets, we should choose our words... it shouldn't be too hard.

Amazing combination of design and political activism. It is motivating to see the reflection behind this product, which invites us to think as well about the impact of our decisions.

Thought about how you are shooting your bullets to create a better world? Volunteering, sincere positive compliments, smiling, rejecting any type of discrimination...

Choose your bullet, Shoot! Today!

i know jorge! and making a difference is part of his everyday goals, big thumbs up for choose your bullets. Its a great critic about the situation in this beautiful country that is Mexico.
wonginator   05.03.11
I have to disagree and say how bad this is... This kind of stuff is not design, not art, more some sort of a gift fair type of product for designers. If You call this industrial design then either You don't understand it or You're contributing to make the term industrial design vastly misunderstood to the general public.
