'plus' by min chia lu - 'FUJITSU design award 2011' shortlisted entry



the 'plus' concept by taiwanese designer min chia lu, is a shortlisted entry among over 1000 designs
from our recent designboom competition 'a life with future computing', organized in collaboration with FUJITSU.


designer's own words:
'laptops come in a range of different sizes and weights. usually we use our portable computers for simple tasks when out and about,
such as checking then internet, finding ourselves lugging around a clunky device that carries more than we actually we need.
'plus' is a notebook that envisions itself as a lightweight, thin platform in which one can add various 'brick' components to the back panel -
whether it be a mini projector or extra battery, depending on your needs. the function of 'plus' is to easily allow you to customize
your laptop according to your habits, giving you the options to take apart and add different components, just like toy bricks (like lego),
giving you the opportunity to change the function of your laptop quickly, supporting only what you need to use at any given time.'
