‘sunday’ kitchen grocery, designed by reinhard deines

the ‘sunday‘ kitchen grocery, created by colombia-born, germany-based designer reinhard dienes, is a modular storage system adaptable to a range of common kitchen and garden needs. the piece was part of the design deutschland 2011 exhibition of german design, organized by the german design council for new york and milan design weeks.

measuring 180 x 55 x 35 centimeters (6 x 1.8 x 1.4 feet), the grocery is composed of wood and steel shelf frames. a fluorescent lamp in the upper canopy provides lighting, a built-in electrical socket serves as an extension for kitchen appliances, and the adjustable frames integrate with shelving panels and a range of bent steel organizers to provide additional functionality. currently available modules include plant pot holders, open and lidded baskets in a variety of sizes, and wire racks, all of which lift easily in and out of the grocery for rearrangement.

reinhard dienes is currently seeking producers for ‘sunday.’
