This is ridiculous. Why would I want to hang a coffee cup in my closet? Design at it's most useless.
lori   05.25.11
why would I want to hang my coffe cup were I have my clothes?! nasty!
yeak   05.25.11
i think it could be hung anywhere, not just where you have your clothes!
maxi   05.25.11
looks cumbersome to hold, besides those handles look like you'll poke your eyes out with them.
grapes   05.25.11
to avoid some confusion, we have removed the statement of being able to hang the cups
'anywhere you hang your clothes'.

amir has written to us that his intention is that 'coffee hanger' can be hung in any place.
the design is illustrated on a closet bar as the formal developments have stemmed from a clothes hanger,
but this is just one of the places in which it can be hung.

Yeah, but how do you hold it? Ever try holding a hanger from its curved "head" in anything else but crooked fingers, in any other position besides vertical?
Try it. Then imagine it as a bulky object filled with hot liquid. Oi Oi Oi.

This is design at it's most idiotic.. Why would you need to hang a coffee cup anywhere? Maybe in a high turnaround commercial kitchen environment [you certainly wouldn't want to create a rack to clutter your own kitchen with an eight serving set], but then you'd have the problem of serving customers coffee in a mug that would be difficult and unpleasant to hold [impossible for the elderly or anyone with physical impairment of their hands or arms]. This really is an example of someone creating a design problem that doesn't exist and then developing a solution that, in turn, creates very real problems. I almost unliked designboom for this one!

It shows you he has a very bright, intelligent mind because it usually takes a demented, sick, averse mind to think up the really great, neat, useful stuff.
charles   05.26.11
"Ready for firing" is right. Youre fired!
charles   05.26.11
to me it looks very uncomfortable for drinking coffe and also easier to spill than a cup with a regular size handle. Plus, the only reason I could find to hang my coffe cups would be to drain out the water after I wash them, but if they stay in a horizontal position this won't happen. So yeah, I agree, pointless
Randy   05.26.11
don't worry! it's ok... it's very creativ and you are better then all this IKEA guys say.. you are thinking in an other way and i'm shure you make your way.. there are too much IKEA designer! go and make your next thing!!

there are many cups designed to be hung from something, I would say that the reason for the photo is more to show the relation between a clothes hanger hook and the hook used for the cup, I think its nice
