who ‘writes’ the courses? all design-aerobics lessons are conceived by birgit lohmann, designboom’s editor-in-chief . (since 1988 she has been actively working and training within the design and internet industries as well as in the academic and business communities.

as a designer, she has collaborated with achille castiglioni, and collaborates with vico magistretti, enzo mari, renzo piano… as historic researcher, she has worked as a design expert for auction houses and legal courts.) lessons are developed with the collaboration of world-known designers. lessons quote relevant sources ( texts, statements, studies). lessons are published by the designboom team.

how can I log-in to design-aerobics? design-aerobics courses are published on protected pages only. only registered participants can log-in. ‘take the tour’ for a more detailed guide to the login process.

how much time do I need to complete my online course? the design-aerobics course lasts 2 months. the work should be completed within this period. you exercise in your own time at your own pace. as long as you want – that’s the central idea of this online training course.

do I have to log into my design-aerobics course at designated times? this form of education is called asynchronous. it is not time- or place-dependent. also, since you do all of your work and discussion activities at your own pace, you have lots of freedom regarding ‘when’ to do it.

how can design-aerobics promote you? designboom feel especially proud to be a helpful promoter for newcomers. many of the featured designers found a job, won design prizes, got in contact with the international press, their designs have been added to museum collections…

classes are filling up quickly? – the number of participants is limited – participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. you should register early! owever, if you wish to participate in a course that has already started, please email us <[email protected]> and let us know.

how do I make payment? using a pay pal account, please note that we do not accept any other method of payment (bank transfer, western union, cheque, postal order etc.) we appologize for any inconvenience that this may cause

who can participate? anyone: students, workers, design enthusiasts, people of all nationalities and ages.

should the works be done with a specific design programme? what will I need to participate? the only requirement for this course is basic internet access. participants are encouraged to communicate via email, and will need to access course material via the designboom website. additional visual participation is encouraged, and may require the following skills (basic computer graphics, the ability to scan your drawings and photos, etc).
