spanish designer jaime hayon has designed 'favn' (which means 'embrace' in danish) for danish furniture manufacturer fritz hansen.
''favn' is an evolution of fritz hansen's design language that brings together the qualities of spanish and danish design.
it picks up from the long tradition of arne jacobsen in the sense that I wanted to create a form that was based on a shell,
like the egg™ and the swan™ which looks equally beautiful from all angles,' says hayon.
the sofa is available in different versions that incorporate a mix of three fabrics: one for the shell,
one for the seat and back cushions and the third applied to small decorative pillows. the seat and back cushions are made from col cured,
highly elastic polyurethane foam and the decorative cushions from lazy foam, a low resilience polyurethane foam.
below the seat there is a small logo and signature plate in satin brushed aluminium hand sewn onto the sofa.
