the ‘camera lens cap holder’ by mark stevenson, shown here in use with a canon DSLR

the ‘camera lens cap holder‘, developed by mark stevenson, securely stores the lens cap for SLR and DSLRs cameras, preventing loss of the cap while photographing, without leaving it dangling from the camera body. composed of molded plastic, the circular holder slides onto the camera’s neckstrap. lens caps fit onto the device with the same friction fit that ordinarily connects the cap to the lens body.

each cap holder can hold three to four different lens cap sizes, accomplished through the molding of one to two concentric rings  into each side. stevenson plans an initial array of ten lens cap sizes: 40.5mm, 46mm, 49mm, 52mm, 55mm, 58mm, 62mm, 67mm, 72mm, and 77m, covering a range of canon, nike, olympus, pentax, and vintage lenses, among others.

preorders for the ‘camera lens cap holder’ are being taken via the project’s kickstarter page with donations of 15 USD and higher.
