muji: charity items for japan relief

muji charity paper fan, part of the new collection for japan relief effort

muji has just released a new collection of items, part of whose proceeds is destined for the victims of the japan earthquake
and tsunami. designed to depict power and energy, the patterned pieces feature traditional chinese kanji characters,
fashioned into a recycled paper fan and square and towel cotton handkerchiefs.

40 yen (about 50 cents in USD) from the sale of each handkerchief and 20 yen (about 25 cents in USD) from the sale of each fan
will be donated to the japan relief efforts of the japan platform, an international emergency assistance organization.
all pieces are available in the red-on-white pattern referencing the japanese flag, while the handkerchiefs are also produced
in blue-on-white.

items are available in manhattan muji stores and its storefront in the JFK airport, as well as from its online store.
