expanding their '50% sawdust' project, israel-based studio kulla design present new table lamps.
with a focus on material research, this series uses heat to transform wooden sawdust and plastic bags into a new composite,
avoiding any harmful binding chemicals.
having previously used it for stool seats, the design practice has now produced table lamps with shades of this recycled material.
the simple construction highlights the colorful pattern that comes from the plastic bags, reframing the possibilities of reusing waste products.
for more information on the '50% sawdust' production process, please see designboom's previous coverage of the project.
