based in madrid, architecture and design practice kawamura-ganjavian presents their last design, 'ductpan.'
in contrast to a standard model, this dustpan cleverly includes a funnel duct in its handle to simplify the process of emptying it out.

is this a joke??? what is the difference with just using the front end? it took an entire firm to think of this one! Goofballs!

flipping amazing ! How on earth did we not think about this before! We are idiots!
bravo kawamura-ganjavian. Simplest design are allways the best.

I like it.

Besides being beautiful, I like the handle idea. Why not go a step further, however, and use the duct to store the pan on top of the broom handle?

Like someone commented on Core77:
"That's been done already. And by Rubbermaid:

And it had a lid...
Target had it for a while but wasn't a great seller."

what if sweep up something that is awkwardly shaped and it blocks the funnel?
This is so pointless. just use the front end.

Why?? — don't get the clue why to post some joke like this uncritically :(

Obviously designed by someone who used a brush and pan before. Could have innovated with the material maybe make it out of soft silicone so it could be folded up around the brush.

This is a case where a designer got excited about an IDEA and forgot to explore other opportunities and realities.

I do not like the aesthetic design.
