ettore sottsass at lighting art gallery

the yamagiwa art foundation currently presents an exhibition which focuses on presenting original lighting concepts, particularly those of the italian design great, ettore sottsass. the designer was known for his use of geometric forms – lines and circles – accented by a brave and bold use of color, a practice which led him to found the famed memphis group in 1981.  this exhibition brings forth original lighting designs by sottsass, on show at the ‘lighting art gallery‘ in tokyo until september 4th, 2011.
