beijing- based architect yung ho chang of atelier FCJZ has created 'HULU serveware', a porcelain tableware and utensil
collection derived from the past use of dried 'hulu' gourds to scoop water and wash rice in northern china. traditionally viewed
as an essential family belonging, the set intends to maintain the sense of connection created by dried gourds between everyone
at the dinner table while symbolizing harmony. the formally organic set breaks the established '6 plate' rule offering a creative
arrangement to display food in diverse ways.
