valeriy kuznetsov, katerina kuznetspva and karnaukh illarion of ukraine-based decorkuznetsov sudio
have created 'ushanki', a shelf-lamp that is available in three different sizes, appropriately named
shelf-dad, shelf-mom, and shelf-son. the form is derived from the earflaps of the shapka-ushanka,
which was once the national cap of ukraine. the curvilinear shape and bold blue color contribute
to the playfulness of the three figures. hidden inside the MDF and solid wood structure is a fluorescent bulb,
casting a glow on all the shelf's contents, making the 'ushanki' functional as a bedside table or a bookshelf.
