david graas: everything but the manual

suggestion #1 (dressing table)

amsterdam-based designer david graas conceived 'everything but the manual', a furniture
system with an endless
combination
to the final shape of the material. an individual possessing this work is given a cube comprised of
260 identical oak pieces intended to be connected by bolts and screws without the use of a manual.
consistent with graas' love of flexibility in design, he produced 'everything but the manual' with the intent for experimentation
in the execution of design by the owner of the piece. graas' three interpretations of the cube are on display in the 10 makers/
10 stages exhibition at studio liverse for dutch design week 2011.
the piece will also be shown during maison et objet 2012 in the exhibition 'knock on wood' at the toolsgalerie in paris from
january 17th until march 10th.
