experience the potential of thai culture: artistic flair, craftsmanship and production/distribution. the designboom team will organize one of the main attractions at asia’s renown furniture fair in the exciting city of bangkok. join the designboom mart for a week of fun and introduce your work to the asian market. whether you are looking for a producer, distributor, or simply wish to promote your work to a new audience, this great opportunity will allow you to do so. in this group of like-minded people, we’ll enjoy food, local culture and visiting bangkok together.
show your work – bring items for sale this event is slightly different than other designboom marts. we are able to offer participants more space — an entire booth instead of a table setting. with this new mart formula, you have two options. you can decide – if you wish to bring prototypes and only show your designs to producers, distributors, customers and press or – if you are also able to bring and sell a few products of your creation. a combination of both is possible. find out how to apply for a booth below!

what are designboom marts?
in designboom’s unique and world famous market exhibitions, visitors are not only able to meet the young avant-garde designers and become familiar with their work but also buy self-produced or limited edition pieces directly from the designers. profits through sales can be used towards partially covering any travel costs.
over the intense days of exhibiting and socializing, the designers have the chance to discuss their work with other like-minded professionals, customers, manufacturers, distributors, press and museum curators – verifying their designs and their packaging credentials.
after new york, tokyo, sydney, seoul, melbourne, stockholm, saint-etienne, valencia, copenhagen, … this unique formula now sees its 26th edition, since our very first mart in new york in 2005.

how to participate
please email us a few images of your objects that you would like to bring, you can decide to bring goods that you wish to sell or goods only to exhibit… or both. whereas in previous marts participants exhibit their goods on a market table at the bangkok mart participants will have a small booth to themselves to sell and exhibit work.
criteria you should keep in mind that the mart is a sales exhibition, therefore you are invited to sell a small amount of (self) produced items priced from:
450 thai baht – 4500 – thai baht (ca. 10-100 euros) objects intended for sale should be lightweight and easy to carry.
