'housewine' is a home-brewing system developed by eindhoven-based designer sabine marcelis
although wine production is associated with bulky equipment usually hidden in basements and garages,
this unit redevelops the components to be both functional but also aesthetically appealing.
the installation aims to celebrate the process of wine-making by bringing it into the living space.

the shape of the vessels allows elements usually needed for wine production including the funnel,
stirrer, vile for hydrometer reading and the primary fermentation bin to be eliminated.
the equipment which is still required is hidden in the base, making the piece a fully functional unit.
by become a sculptural entity inside the residence, the inhabitants can keep a closer eye on the changing liquid.

the project was on display at the design academy eindhoven graduation galleries during dutch design week 2011
