convertible furniture: flip by daisuke motogi

'flip series 1', part of the series by daisuke motogi architecture in collaboration with sixinch
all images by patrick hauri
daisuke motogi has produced 'flip series' for sixinch japan, on exhibition at designtide tokyo 2011.
each model in the collection of versatile
seating implements can be transformed by flipping the piece
to uncover a new form and function. the first piece of the series is a high-backed chair when flipped one way,
and low seat in the other. in another model, a stool becomes a deep seat; while the third piece converts
between a lounger and a rocking chair.
the line is constructed from urethane in order to render the models light enough to be easily flipped
even by a child.
