'expandable surface pavilion' by pablo zamorano, nacho martí, and jacob bek
london-based architect pablo zamorano and interior designer nacho martí, in collaboration with new york-based
designer jacob bek, have designed the 'expandable surface pavilion', a meeting room installed for the SPOGA
furniture design exhibition in cologne, germany. the structure involves a zero-waste construction method
that can be scaled to the needs of various spaces without the need for any additional framework or support structure.
the geometric piece is an actualization of the ongoing research into 'expandable surface systems'
conducted with the program of study in emergent technologies and design at the architectural association.
cut panels are locked together via fasteners, providing a modular way to customize the pavilion with its installation.
