galerie gosserez presents the exhibition 'cirkel' by dutch designers daphna isaacs burggraaf and laurens manders of daphna laurens.
each piece within the installation draws its form from the circle and curve. the humorous, anthropomorphic series
is comprised of a mirror, floor lamp, wall lamp and coffee table. the works are the result of a manipulation of shape,
resulting in a fantastical circular series. the two designers created the collection around basic geometry and lines;
each domestic item may also double as an artistic work.

the 'coffee table' of the series was first conceived as a circular surface. the duo then added a cone to the work
in order to provide added storage device.

the work was formed by 'composing, cutting and twisting the surface, adding or removing lines, applying materials and colour...'

'animal mirror set'

each mirror results from a philosophical foundation. the table top mirrors resemble an elephant, owl and mole,
seeming to grow from the surface in which they are placed.

the 'wall light 1' and 'wall light 2' were created to serve as both a piece of art and a functional lamp.
the curved bases of each lamp hold to the wall while the extending wooden piece serves as a shelf.

the tilted nature of the 'leaning floor lamp' creates a necessity for a nearby wall to rest its circular head upon.
