the sculptural collection 'infrasions' by paris-based designer matali crasset is an installation of bowls, vases, a loudspeaker,
loudhailer and foghorn all complimented by a soundscape designed by rennes-based artist damien marchal of VIVARIUM.
the project was commissioned by michael chéneau and julie portier.

crasset's interpretation of these identifiable objects maintain the shape typical to their utilitarian use,
yet their original function to the form has been separated from each work. her conceptual collection takes its form from the
handy work of several artisans, typical to her curiosity with craftsmen; the sycamore and lacquered base of each piece
by alain larcher with gold leaf detailing by oliver guilbaud.

the artistic actualization this installation is seen in the initial tension of silence, then alleviated by the sounds of marchal's
interpretation of the frozen instruments. marchal creates the aural environment for the installation.
his piece brings to life the sculptural works as he assigns an alternate experiential aspect to the seemingly soundless
loudspeaker or foghorn. the sounds he created were contingent upon the visual field. the object functions as the catalyst
for the soundscape, which was produced to enhance the understanding of the initial object.

I will never understand how people let themselves be fooled again by Matali Crasset. It's ridiculous.

Frederic you condescending tw*t, Some people like her work because it appeals to their taste. If you are going to be critical at least back it up with reasoned explanation as to why.
