'PE stripe meltdown chair' by tom price

'PE stripe meltdown chair' by british designer tom price is a work typical to his use of unconventional materials and methods.
price invented a heated metal chair-shaped tool to press into a stack of colorful woven plastic rugs on a solid stainless steel frame.
the rugs are set in the shape of the mould, cooling into the finished product. presented by industry gallery at design miami 2011,
the 'PE stripe meltdown chair' is a prototype for the melted chair series as price intends to create multiple works with the heated chair tool.
