'the tube' by tube4all
dutch company tube4all has created 'the tube', a temporary cylindrical housing unit which provides a domestic environment
in a variety of outdoor settings. the tubular structure can be used as a cabin in parks or a lodge remote locations where temporary living
and sleeping facilities are required. it protects against wind, rain, heat and cold across the seasons and comes equipped with a heater.
an adjustable table lowers to bench height to create a surface onto with the backrests are placed, creating a 2-3 person mattress.
the flexible furniture system also includes storage under the seats. for lighting, 2 LED bulbs are integrated into the ceiling
as a running light, connected to a central junction box and separate circuit breaker. also built-in are two sockets for electronic equipment.

view of entrance
for the door and window frames a durable wood is utilized which is safe for both indoor and outdoor applications.
the outside of the cylindrical tube is made from a single piece of
polyurethane creating a structure without seams or cracks.
both the interior and exterior are waterproofed in order to prevent water damage. the portable residence is 3 meters (10 feet) long
and 2.2 (7 feet) meters in diameter. all together, the structure weighs 450 kg (990 pounds), making it easily transportable.
