matthew weatherly: spoke chair

'spoke' by matthew weatherly
a reinterpretation of the radiating display of spindles in the backrest of a traditional windsor chair,
the structure of the spoke lounge chair relies on a series of mechanically placed spindles for the backrest
as well as the seat. a set of turned wooden legs rises diagonally from the floor to the elbow rest.
connecting these legs is a substantial curved beam that serves as the primary element for connecting
the entire assembly. the front legs are splayed at angles to provide actual and visual support
for the person sitting. constructed from ash, this chair measures 800mm in depth, 850mm
in height, and 730mm in width.
