german designers julian appelius and karen olze have created ‘blind passangers’. the screen series consists of six sublimations on polyester to be affixed to the inside of the car window. figure options include botticelli’ muse, simonetta vespucci, the bust of nefertiti, vermeer’s girl with the pearl earring, arcimboldos’ ‘spring’ or two cherubs by raffael, all depicted at 43 x 36 cm. the blind functions as a shade the true passenger of the vehicle while simultaneously displaying a famous art historical image to passers-by.
