international marketing agency m+c saatchi has created ‘get ahead of the games’, a national advertising campaign to help raise awareness of travel delays, tips and planning for inhabitants and visitors in london during the 2012 olympic and paralympic games. the campaign was developed to engage with various methods of communication, covering social media, website and printed distribution, decorating newspapers, cell phones and metro stations alike. in anticipation of the games, organizations such as transport for london, the olympic delivery authority, the mayor of london, national rail, highways agency and department for transport are working collaboratively to release up to date information about city transportation through the ‘get ahead of the game’ website and twitter feed. the light-hearted illustrations developed display digitized caricatures of olympic and paralympic athletes, wearing the apparel of their sport, causing a disruption in the normal flow of commuter traffic.
