doshi levien: chandigarh sofa for moroso

'chandigarh sofa' by doshi levien for moroso

london-based design studio doshi levien has sent us images of small scales models of 'chandigarh', a sofa and lounge seat for moroso.
the indian city of chandigarh, fully designed by swiss architect le corbusier, is represented not only in the form of the furniture pieces
but also in a specific print which will be applied to either leather or canvas covers. the graphic interpretation of the modernist windows
will envelop the moulded foam body.

'we see chandigarh sofa as the coming together of modern, sensual, graphic and eccentric qualities.' - doshi levien

the full-scale furniture pieces will be on display at milan design week 2012.
