‘twin headphones’ by roel deden

‘twin headphones’, a concept designed by roel deden (currently a student at design academy eindhoven) encourages the more social use of technology by combining two headphones into one device, capable of being separated. the full headphones are composed of a large set featuring an open-centered ring and a smaller set of on-the-ear speakers.

when used in close proximity, wireless connections enable both devices to broadcast the same music so friends can share songs. alternatively, the open-ring headphones can be used alone in order to listen to music without completely blocking out the surrounding sounds.
