during milan design week 2012, the exhibition tuttobene presents the exhibition ‘the new glint of things’, showcasing young dutch designers.  amongst the concepts, is ‘the courtesy table’ by marleen jansen. based on the idea of a see-saw, the table for two has integrated seating under the top surface. with a swaying hinge, the people on either side become dependent on the other to stay seated as the movement of one directly effects the person on the opposite side. the object is a translation of the relationship between those seated at the dinner table into a physical manifestation.
